In the 1970’s two hairdressers Paul Mitchell and John Paul Dejora recognised the need for a professional haircare product range for clients to use at home. Hairstyle trends were changing and clients were frequently styling their hair at home in between salon visits. The Paul Mitchell range was developed providing affordable luxury products and their philosophy was that they were tested on hairdressers, never on animals.
They also decided that they would support many philanthropic causes, which continues to this day. They are patrons of the non-profit organisation MINESEEKER – an organisation devoted to battling the worldwide problem of landmines. They have worked alongside Brad Pitt, Richard Branson and Nelson Mandela to help rid the world of these.
